Technically you can use the rotor repair recipe (rotor with 1-8 blades in a crafting table), where each blade removes 2500 damage from the rotor. If you repaired right before it broke, it would cost 12 blades, or 36 steel. Still a maintenance cost, of course, but not as bad as a brand new...

It's a 30 second exposure, the "line" is a result of the dot moving across the sky for 30 seconds. You can see that the stars are actually very short lines as well.

Last I checked blaze rods were severely nerfed for the purposes of steam power. Not sure if they could even run one 36HP boiler anymore. Maybe one 36LP. I think they used to provide 4,000 heat but now it's only 500 or 800.

I also have a T5 blaze spawner going into a 36HP boiler - it generates around one blaze rod every 3 seconds, but a fully warmed up 36HP uses one rod every 7.5 seconds, so I still have a growing surplus. Could technically be possible to run two boilers, but I have no need for more than 144mj/t.
