Ok I got it. I looked though all the configs and found that these were not default: B:enableBCtoMEChipRecipe=true B:useBuildcraftChips=true After I set them to false(which is their defaults) I could craft the knife. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I had this problem earlier. I had to add the line 192.111.138.82 new.creeperrepo.net (there should be a tab between the ip and hostname) to my C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file. After I did that, I closed the launcher and reopened it.

Well you were right, some of my redstone went right next too the control block on the underside. Once I rewired it, it started working just fine. I even took off 4 electric engines and it is still going well.
