Questions around mods and server performance

Hi,

We are a little group of friends (less than 10 connected at the same time) and we are running our little server peacefully. But one day, Lags happen

we got multiple mods that add "pipes" , and automated crafting/sorting system and we wanted to know: which mod does this with the less lag/CPU/RAM usage possible?

the server is running in 1.6.4

the question is the same for farms: steves cart/minefactory reloaded/forestry/... ?
Also barrel, is there any barrel who's better than the others?

any Tips to reduce the lags are welcome.

Witchhunts are terrible. Fire up Opis, or better yet VisualVM (but it's a bit hard to set up that one).

There's a great tool for this on 1.7.10, but you're still on 1.6.4. Hooray for missing out on 1.5 years of modding improvements.

Opis already running,It sure help a lot! Will look at VisualVM, but I'm not experienced in Java at all(don't know syntaxe & commands).
