I found I really couldn't live without Big Reactors, so I took a bit of a break, changed up the pack a bit, and started over. I'm making a little progress rebuilding my base. The new mana bean farm is now in a 1 chunk vertical column underground.

In your infusion stabilization space put crystal clusters on the roof. I usually cover the floors with candles and ceiling with clusters.
The room it's self looks neat though.

I usually just go for all candles, since the space is hidden, but I was getting shards & skulls faster than rotten flesh when I was ready to upgrade my wand.

I've got 1 tower under roof, & have done a little more interior design work in the central machine room. I've bread up all the aspects of mana beans, but still need to set up auto harvesting of the more useful ones.

Can you put the images in spoilers?
You do it like so
Code:
 [spoiler] [/spoiler]

I could, but since there is no other content on this thread, and since my personal preference when looking for pictures is to see pictures and not a wall of spoiler tags or links I have to click through in the hope that there is actually something interesting behind each and every one, I won't. I will, however, alter the title to warn you that there are lots of pics here.

Wouldn't mind some closer looks at that fountain ;)
Looks like there is some really nice geometry and stuff going on.
(Though as I think we talked about earlier, the lava ruins it a bit for me personally.)

I must admit I don't understand people who come to the Showcase section and get surprised when there are lots of pictures :p

Always happy to fill a request for more pics! For me, the contrast between the lava & the water (& the fact that it doesn't turn into a cobble gen when set up this way) is what makes the design work for me, but you can replace the lava with water or all of it with almost any normally behaving minecraft liquid if you so choose. Up top, we basically have my old fountain with a taller lava column & spouts added for the spillover. A couple minecraft fountain design vids popped up in my youtube recommended list & suddenly my 11X11 ground level design just wasn't good enough anymore. Hmmm...I think I might shift the falling lava out diagonally one space at the corners...

I'm still tweaking my custom pack a bit, and I've started over twice since my last post. If you know of any mods that add a few really interesting structures to world gen without adding tons of derpy clutter, I'm open to suggestions. I think you can add your own structures to Ruins, so I might try using that.

Recurrent complex is great for that, it's like ruins but with cooler structures and better integrated generation, depending on your modslist I even have some custom structures you could use
